Connecting with the Community

During 2012 CBHS’ charity of choice is Alzheimer’s Australia. Alzheimer's Australia is the leading charity providing support and advocacy for the 257,000 Australians living with dementia.

National Programs

Alzheimer’s Australia manages a wide range of innovative National
Programs which provide information, support, counselling, training and
education to people with dementia, their families and carers as well as to
professionals working in the dementia field.

Many of these programs are funded by the Australian Government through
the National Dementia Support Program (NDSP). Programs are delivered
by individual Alzheimer’s Australia Associations in each State and Territory.

The main programs delivered under the NDSP are:
• The National Dementia Helpline
• Dementia and Memory Community Centres
• The Living with Memory Loss Program
• Counselling
• Carer Support Groups
• Education for Family Carers and Workers
• Public Awareness Activities
• National Resources Program

Alzheimer's Australia offers support, information, education and counselling.
