Please take the time to read a snap shot of CBHS’ history:

1951

The Commonwealth Bank Health Society, as CBHS was originally known, was established 1st January by the Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA) to provide cost effective, quality health care for all employees. Registered as a Friendly Society from its establishment date, membership of the Health Society was compulsory for all CBA employees and was subsidised by the bank.

1988

No longer compulsory for CBA employees to join the Health Society, and membership became open to current and retired employees.

1996

August saw CBHS open its doors a little further, making ex-CBA employees (in addition to current employees) eligible to join.

In November 1996, CBHS separated from the Bank, changing its name to CBHS Friendly Society.

2000

CBHS Friendly Society moves offices to 10 Pitt Street Parramatta, NSW.

2007

In 2007, CBHS opened its eligibility to immediate family members of CBA Group current and former employees. November 2007, and CBHS has over 60,000 members, covering over 145,000 lives.

CBHS changes its name to CBHS Health Fund Limited.

2010

CBHS wins the HIRMMA year-on-year improvement award for member satisfaction and launches its certified value promise to all its members. October 2010, CBHS has over 71,000 members, covering over 170,000 lives.

2011 CBHS celebrates its 60th year
2012

CBHS Health Fund moves offices to Level 5, 79 George Street, Parramatta, NSW

CBHS celebraties winning the Roy Morgan Research Private Health Insurer of the Year for 2012!
