  • Laser Eye Surgery

    Laser eye surgery is classed as elective surgery by Medicare and these procedures do not have a Medicare item number as does all elective surgery. CBHS does not deem this as cosmetic surgery. CBHS is limited to paying benefits.. Read more

    CBHS does not deem this as cosmetic surgery. CBHS is limited to paying benefits towards medical services that are listed and described by the Government in the Medicare Benefits Schedule.

    Lifetime Health Cover is a Federal government initiative that rewards people for taking out hospital cover at an early age and maintaining that cover throughout their lifetime.

    How it works

    LHC requires health funds to apply a 2% premium loading for each year their ‘certified age at entry’ is over 30 when they first take out hospital cover.  More information: www.privatehealth.gov.au
