    Speech Therapy (also known as Speech Pathology) is the diagnosis, management and treatment of individuals who are unable to communicate effectively or who have difficulty with feeding and swallowing.  A broad range of clients can receive speech pathology services. Clients may include children who fail to develop normal communication or people who acquire communication disabilities as a result of disease, injury or a stroke.

    Accredited Podiatrist performs surgery on the foot, ankle and toes.

    Surgical Podiatry provided in a private hospital, are eligible for Minimum Default Benefits prescribed by private health insurance legislation as Medicare do not pay a benefit. These benefits relate to hospital bed charges and are unlikely to cover the fees charged for a private hospital admission. Members may incur large out of pocket expenses for theatre fees together with the difference between the Minimum Default Benefit and the bed charge raised by the hospital.

    A member who has been with CBHS for at least twelve months and is up to date in their contributions may apply to CBHS to suspend their membership.

    CBHS may grant suspension if the member:

        i) Will be temporarily absent from Australia for a period greater than six weeks but not more than 36 months.

        ii) Is experiencing financial hardship over a period greater than three months but not more than 24 months.
