Glossary of terms

Here’s a guide to assist you in understanding the meaning of the terminology used by CBHS.

  • Day Surgery

Day surgery is completed in one day, so the person doesn't have to stay in hospital overnight. The type of anaesthesia you have depends on the operation and your health. Day surgery may require a local, regional or general anaesthetic. If the level of cover has an excess or co-payment, it will need to be paid to the hospital.
