Here’s a guide to assist you in understanding the meaning of the terminology used by CBHS.

  • Excess

    You can reduce the cost of your Basic Plus Hospital cover by agreeing to pay an excess of $500 or $750.  This means that when you go into hospital you will pay the first $500 or $750 in respect to charges raised by a hospital.  This excess is per person up to a maximum of $1000 or $1500 per family membership per calendar year.

    You can reduce the cost of your Comprehensive Hospital (Gold) or Limited Hospital (Bronze Plus) cover by agreeing to pay a daily co-payment 

    Old products Hospital A Excess (Gold) & Hospital B Excess (Bronze Plus) have an excess of $350.00 per overnight stay to a maximum of $700.00 in any calendar year. These products also have co payments for day stay procedures. These products are closed for new memberships.
