CBHS private hospital benefits at GastroMedicine & ENDOSCOPY hospitals

CBHS Group is committed to providing our members with private hospital cover options that represent quality and value.

To meet this commitment, we have agreements with approximately 140 hospitals in Victoria, including the GastroMedicine & ENDOSCOPY (GME) group of hospitals. These hospitals provide a range of endoscopy services.

Unfortunately, GME hospitals have recently issued a notice of termination of their agreement with CBHS. This termination will be effective from 5 January 2025.

The hospitals impacted by this termination are:

  • Mornington Endoscopy, 350 Main St, Mornington
  • Rosebud Endoscopy, 20 Boneo Rd, Rosebud

What are the impacts to members with an upcoming admission booked at a GME hospital?

There is no change for CBHS members whose hospital admission at a GME hospital is:

  • before 5 January 2025 (including where discharge is on or after 5 January 2025)
  • pre-booked before 5 January 2025, for an admission before 5 July 2025
  • part of an ongoing course of treatment; until the completion of the course of treatment or up to 5 July 2025, whichever occurs first
  • an emergency admission before 5 April 2025

If your admission falls into one of the above criteria, you will not be impacted by the contract termination.

What does this mean for members?

If a member attends a GME hospital for a procedure or treatment from 5 January 2025 (which was not booked before 5 January 2025), they’re likely to experience significant out-of-pocket costs.

As with all hospital admissions, we suggest members contact the hospital to confirm any out-of-pocket costs prior to admission. To reduce out-of-pocket costs, members can also choose to be treated at an alternate CBHS agreement hospital.
