CBHS announces a new Chair

14.10.2024
Nicolette Rubinsztein profile

CBHS is proud to announce a new Chair, Nicolette Rubinsztein AM. Nicolette is currently the Deputy Chair and will assume the role of Chair from 30 November 2024.

Nicolette’s appointment follows the impending retirement of long-serving Chair Peter MacCuspie. Peter will step down in November after his sixth year at the helm and nine years on the Board in total.

“I’m excited to announce the appointment of Nicolette to the role of Chair. Nicolette brings a wealth of experience, not only from her time on the Board to date but as a seasoned Director for several large organisations and an accomplished businessperson. I hand over the baton to Nicolette, knowing that our dedication to putting our members first, always, will continue,” said Peter MacCuspie.

Nicolette, a qualified actuary, has deep experience in the Australian wealth management sector. The CBHS Board has been benefiting from her financial expertise since March 2018, in the roles of Deputy Chair, Chair of the Risk Committee, member of the Audit Committee and previously, Chair of the People and Remuneration Committee.

In 2024, Nicolette was made a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) in The King's Birthday Honours List for her significant service to business, particularly the finance and commerce sectors. However, Nicolette’s proudest achievement will always be as a mother to three daughters. Through her own learnings as a mum and businessperson, she authored a book, Not Guilty to help other career mums achieve a more balanced, strategic approach to juggling parenting and work.

“I’d like to thank Peter for his guidance and counsel during his time as Chair. I am very much looking forward to continuing his good work and he’s been an inspiration to me, particularly how he continued to ably chair the Board while experiencing his own health challenges”, said Nicolette.

“As a former CommBank employee of 14 years, I’ve been a CBHS member since 2001. During this time, my family and I have road-tested CBHS’ health covers extensively, including during a time of cancer treatment. Testament to my personal experience, I wholeheartedly believe in the value that CBHS delivers, and am excited to be taking the role of Chair."

We’ve got a great Board with deep capability and a fantastic management team, and I’m looking forward to continuing our work to build happier and healthier communities together.

Helen Troup, CBHS Group Chief Executive Officer said, “I’d like to thank Peter for his outstanding contribution to CBHS. Throughout his nine years of service Peter has brought unique, valuable, and powerful insights to our business. We are a better organisation because of his dedication, passion and leadership. Congratulations to Nicolette, we look forward to you taking the reins and continuing to guide CBHS as we support our members and people to live healthier and happier lives.”
