CBHS announces the sale of health technology provider Whitecoat to CBA
CBHS together with other shareholders has announced the sale of health technology provider Whitecoat to CBA. Whitecoat operates the country’s largest digital healthcare services directory allowing Australians to locate and book appointments with
over 300,000 health service providers. It also offers an end-to-end digital health payment and claims solution with both terminal and in-app mobile claims processing capability for Medicare, private health funds, and Australian Government schemes.
The acquisition will see Whitecoat brought into CBA’s Business Bank. Through acquiring Whitecoat, the bank aims to support its focus on healthcare as a growth sector and strategic priority to provide the best digital services and experiences to
its customers.
CBHS Group CEO Andrew Smith, said, “CBHS looks forward to continuing to work closely with our key stakeholder CBA to provide seamless digital solutions for our members. It has been pleasing to see the platform’s growth from an online healthcare
directory into the digital payments space, and we look forward to participating in these future developments.”
What does it mean for CBHS members?
For members, it will provide a simpler experience to pay and claim using the CBHS mobile app. Members will soon be able to use the Whitecoat-powered provider search function on our website to easily search for a healthcare practitioner including those
specialists who participate in no gap or known gap schemes to reduce out-of-pocket expenses and book appointments all in one place.
What does it mean for healthcare providers?
For healthcare practitioners, the solution will deliver a leading in-practice and digital payments and claims solution integrated into practice management platforms. It will also increase efficiency through streamlined back-office administration, Practice
Management Software integrations, payment reconciliations, real-time reporting, and the ability to process Medicare, private health insurance, and Government scheme claims – leaving practitioners more time to spend with their patients.
