Ingredients:

  • 1 cup almond butter
  • ½ cup protein powder (e.g. whey-based)
  • ¼ cup desiccated coconut
  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1 tsp vanilla essence

Optional extra

  • ¼ cup desiccated coconut, to coat bliss balls

Directions:

    • Add all ingredients to a food processor and blitz until a dough forms.
    • Divide into 16 pieces, roll into bite-sized balls then coat with desiccated coconut (optional). Place on a plate and leave to set in the fridge for 1 hour.

    Notes:

    • You can make these by hand by simply adding the ingredients to a bowl and mixing well with a spoon or your hands to form a dough.
    • This recipe uses whey protein powder, using a different protein powder may change the consistency. You can add more almond butter if the dough is too dry and more cocoa if it’s too sticky.

    Why it’s good for you:

    • Almonds are fantastic for balancing blood sugar levels and are full of healthy fats to curb cravings and hunger.
    • High protein snacks help keep you fuller for longer. Protein not only fuels your muscles, but also builds healthy hair and skin, as well as, hormones and enzymes in your body.
