Member insider: 10 things you can do in the Member Centre

We know our members lead busy lives, so we’re dedicated to making your experience with us quick, efficient and easy. To help you access many of our services at a time and place that suits you, we have loads of functions in our online Member Centre.
Here are 10 things you can do in just a few clicks or taps.
Once you’ve logged in, the Member home screen has a snapshot of your cover details, including your:
- Hospital cover
- Extras cover
- contributions
- joining date
- paid-to date.
- Update your contact details and password
Under the ‘My account’ tab, you’ll see an option labelled ‘My contact details’. Click this to update your email address and phone number. For security reasons, you’ll need to contact us to update things like your name or address.
To reset your password, select ‘Change my password’ under the ‘My account’ tab.
- Request a replacement card
Lost your card or had it stolen? Simply click ‘Request a replacement card’ under the ‘My account’ tab, fill in the details, then click ‘Cancel and reissue card’. We’ll get a new one out to you as soon as possible.
- Lodge a claim
We’ve made it fast and convenient to lodge a claim. Under the ‘Claims’ tab, click ‘Lodge a claim online’. Our system will show you the steps you need to follow.
You’ll need to put in your claim details and receipt, which you can scan or photograph and upload. Then review what you've done and click ‘Complete’ to send your claim straight to the assessors.
Prefer a more traditional lodgement method? Under the ‘Claims’ tab, you’ll find an option to ‘Download claim form’. You can fill this out and email or post it back to us. Use the ‘Contacts’ tab to find the right place to send it to.
- Check your claims status and history
Click the ‘Claims status and history’ option under the ‘Claims’ tab if you’d like to see where things are up to with current claims.
To view the claims history for anyone under your membership, simply:
- use the dropdown menu to find the right person
- select the type of claim
- use the filters to narrow down your search.
- Make a payment
You can pay your contribution online by clicking ‘Pay my bill’ under the ‘Payments’ tab. The ‘Change my payment method’ option allows you to switch your payment frequency and alter the way you pay your account (from manually to direct debit, for example).
- Check your Extras limits and available funds
If you need to budget for services under Extras cover (like physio or dental), click ‘View extras limits’ under the ‘Benefits’ tab. Here. You’ll get a snapshot showing:
- how much you can claim for different services
- your overall limit
- the estimated limit you still have available.
- Manage your rebate
The Australian Government Rebate on private health insurance is income tested. If your income goes up and you continue claiming the same rebate, you may need to pay back all or some of it after you file your tax return. To reduce your risk of this happening, you can use the Member Centre to change your rebate tier or stop claiming the rebate as a deduction against your premiums.
Click ‘Manage my rebate’ under the ‘My account’ tab and follow the directions.
- Add or remove students from your membership
If you need to add or remove a student dependant from your policy, click the ‘Student declaration/removal’ option under ‘My account’.
- Access correspondence from us
Use the ‘Communication’ tab to find your inbox, which contains all our correspondence to you, including things like tax statements and claims status advice.
And remember, if you have any questions or can’t find what you need, our friendly team are always happy to help.
