We’ve deferred premium increases again in 2022
Health funds need to review their premiums annually as the cost of healthcare in Australia increases each year. This is due to the escalating costs of technology, hospital, medical and health services. The increase in chronic conditions within our population also plays a role.
Our goal remains the same; to keep premium increases as low as possible so that our members can continue to benefit from affordable health cover. This annual premium increase will be the lowest in four years.
We’ve sent each member an email or letter detailing their new premium. This will be effective from 1 July 2022.

This deferral brings the total pandemic support we’ve provided for members to $35 million. By deferring the premium increase, we’re recognising that members may not have been able to use certain health services as normal in recent months.
